1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Gearslutz is now Gearspace

  1. It's that goddamn sluts lobby at it again; damn their political power and endless protest rallies. However, "Gearspace" isn't generic and corporate enough. It's also confusing and misleading as the term "gear" has multiple meanings. Until the site is compassionately renamed something more appropriate like "Musical Equipment Classifieds" I cannot support it.

Good time to reinvigorate the classifieds section, perhaps with a better name. First thoughts:

    GearCumDumpster
    GearHoes
    GearBukkake
    GearBarelyLegalTeenTakesItinTheAss

  2. The thing I don't understand about this "movement": isn't it equally offensive, if not moreso, that they'd assume you're so fragile you can't handle the name of a internet forum?

  3. This is how billions of non-essential people scrape together a sense of purpose - by joining grandiose sounding "causes" and virtue signaling. It's prevalent because it allows people the chance to feel superior without actually having to be superior. Anybody can do it. Anybody can walk in on a Stevie Wonder joke and shame everybody for not being sufficiently elevated and compassionate to the blind. It's for people who make themselves feel better by making other people feel worse, and it is almost without exception perpetuated most by hypocrites.

And no, I don't think huge masses of humanity have any problem being treated like imbeciles and children, because they are. Dunning and Kruger earned every dollar of their grant money.
